Ten steps to choose industrial lubricants

Viscosity selection

Viscosity selection is the first step of equipment lubrication management. It can be selected according to the selection inquiry form, or according to the following principles, or you can fill in the demand questionnaire and send it to our sales engineer. We will make recommendations based on the situation.

1.Load size: With large load, use oil with high viscosity and good extreme pressure, and for small load , use oil with low viscosity.
2.Operating speed: high speed, choose low-viscosity oil; low speed, use high-viscosity oil.
3.Degree of wear: For new equipment and sophisticated equipment, choose moderate viscosity; for old equipment, choose high viscosity.
4.Ambient temperature: If the ambient temperature is low, choose lubricating oil with a lower viscosity and freezing point (or pour point), and vice versa.
5.Mechanical temperature: If the mechanical working temperature is high, choose a lubricant with higher viscosity, higher flash point and good oxidation stability.
6.Moisture level: In humid environments and working conditions where there is more contact with water, lubricating oil with strong demulsibility and good rust resistance should be selected.
7.Precision level : For precision parts such as servo valves, high-cleanliness oil must be selected.
8.Difficulty of replacement: For equipment that is very troublesome to replace once, it is best to use long-life synthetic lubricants.
9.Mechanical material: whether there are relatively active metal materials such as copper and silver to ensure that the oil will not cause oxidation and corrosion of the parts.
10.oil injection device: See what type and viscosity oil the equipment’s oil injection device is suitable for. Too high or low viscosity may lead to poor results.
